2025 – 93 Million Miles Away

So what’s (on average) 93 million miles away? Sol. Apollo’s Chariot. Our Sun! Made for the “Present 2025” exhibition, this piece blazes with light (if you put fresh batteries in, of course).
The title for this piece is based on the lyrics of They Might Be Giant’s educational song “Why does the sun shine?“.
Of the three works I made for this exhibition, this one I liked least. It felt a little rushed and it’s lacking something – but the effect of the embedded lights is kind of spectacular.
